B is for Brandon!

I guess it's no surprise that this was the first letter that I pulled out from my new playmat. I couldn't help myself, I just had to stick my finger through the little holes in the B and pull it out. It also tasted really good and I chewed on it for a while before mommy took it away from me.

I'm ready for Hawaii...but is Hawaii ready for me???

I tried on my new swimtrunks and rashguard shirt last night and it got me all excited to go swimming at the warm Hawaii beaches. Mommy says my swimtrunks are an inch away from being swimpants. Daddy loves them though because they look like his shorts.

Happy in the morning!

Mommy loves this picture, so I thought I would post it for her. She thinks my smile is so cute, and she always says I have daddy's cheekbones when I laugh. We were playing peek-a-boo while I was practicing my standing techniques. One of my new favorite things to do is chew on the top of the rail. Actually, chewing on ANYTHING has always been my favorite thing to do.
In fact, I just started eating Gerber snack puffs. Mommy bought me some sweet potato puffs and I am getting good at grabbing them in my fists and shoving them in my mouth. Kona and I usually have to fight for them. He keeps coming around my booster tray when mommy brings them out for me.

So SMALL!

I wonder how much longer I'll be able to fit in one of daddy's shoebox. He pulled me around the living room in it tonight and I had so much fun!

One more thing to "Brandon-Proof"

I love keeping mommy and daddy on their toes. They didn't think I could reach the blinds, but I showed them! Mommy keeps saying that she is constantly "one step behind" me. I don't know what that means, but now my pack and play is moved so I can't touch the blinds. It's okay though because I am always finding something new to play with.
Today daddy and I went to get new tires put on our car. They are supposedly the best tires for rainy weather. I guess it's supposed to rain when we get to Florida. While we were waiting for the tires to be installed, daddy took me for a walk around the mall. I love going to the mall. Daddy bought me a new shirt and pants set that was on sale at Macy's. I can't wait to wear it!
Well, I better go and post another picture or two. I've been getting some requests to post more pics.

Future Hockey Star

Daddy and I love wearing our hockey jerseys...mommy thinks we look like twins when we do!

What the heck is a cowlick anyway?

Mommy took this picture of me right after I woke up from my nap. She said that I had a cute cowlick, but I have no idea what that means. Why is my hair standing up anyway?

We had a garage sale yesterday to "lighten up our load". I was such a good boy; I just hung out with Aunty Rose and took naps when I felt sleepy. There were so many people coming by, and mommy kept whispering to me, "gas money, gas money!!!" I guess they're going to use the money to pay for gas as we drive across the country next month. That mommy, she is so silly.
Even Kona was a good boy; he hung out in the garage and mostly watched as people walked around our driveway. There was a dog named Roxy that was hanging around too, but eventually her owners came by looking for her. I would be so sad if our Kona was missing. Who would I chase around the living room?

Oh yeah, before I forget, I ate meat for the first time this week! The doctor told mommy to try it and she did. I loved the vegetable beef! Yummm! I also had my 6 month check-up a month late. I weighed in at 19.9 lbs and am 28" long. The doctor said that I looked perfect and that I was advanced for my age as far as crawling and standing goes. I also got four shots; I didn't cry until the 3rd and 4th ones went in. But I didn't cry for long. I also sucked down the rotavirus elixir, yummm. I used to kick and scream when they gave it to me, but now I am a big boy and can take my medicine when I need to.

Lately, I have been pointing at everything with my right hand. Grandma Candy thinks I am right handed, but mommy's not so sure yet. Well, it's time for a nap, so I better get going.

One more thing: I am going to Hawaii at the end of the month and I am so excited! I am going to see my family and meet my Great Grandparents for the first time! I can't wait to swim at the beach too! Mommy and Grandma C already bought me a couple of swim trunks!

Until next time,
Baby Brandon

In some countries, this would be considered "rubenesque"

But here at home, we call this plain old "naked time". This is what we do every night before I take my bath. Mommy or daddy takes all my clothes off, and I crawl around for a bit and strut my stuff. Pretty cool. eh? I'm going to regret posting this picture when I grow up.

Cheap fun...

Yep, I like to play in laundry baskets. I have hundreds of dollars of worth of toys that were purchased to entertain me, and the things that make me happy are a basket and a puppy. Go figure!

I am SO BIG!

This is me in the overalls that mommy swears I will never wear again. I guess it was hard getting me into it, but I thought it was fun and didn't mind a bit!
I've been busy lately with packing things around the house and getting ready for our move, I haven't had much time to sit at the computer and blog.
Let's see, are there any updates? Well, all three of us ended up getting the stomach flu a couple of weeks ago, and that was quite nasty.
I am really good at pulling myself up on the front of the couch and standing up. Sometimes I like to show off and hold myself up with one hand. It really helps when I'm trying to grab things on the couch, like the remote control, mommy's cell phone or Kona. Speaking of Kona, we have a love-hate relationship. I love him and he hates me. He is trying to love me, but it's hard when all I want to do is crawl over and grab him. He's not used to it, and I don't blame him, but still, I can't help myself. I just have to crawl over and try to get him everytime I see him.
Nothing else is new, I am still eating up my solids and loving my baths. I really enjoy going to the mall and strolling around.
Today mommy and daddy are going to take me to the polling place. How exciting!

Behind Bars...

Mommy took this picture of me this morning. I woke up, looked around and saw no one in my room, so I started making some noise but still no one showed up, (mommy says she was washing dishes). So I decided to take a peek to see where mommy was. I crawled over to the side of my crib and pulled myself up. When mommy walked in she was so surprised to see me kneeling and holding myself up like that. When I saw her I smiled and laughed and she must have thought it was cute because the next thing I knew she was running into the room with a camera. So I posed, like I normally do. We're so silly sometimes.

I spent the day at the mall and had lunch with Aunty Joe and then we came home. I was so tired that I fell asleep a little early, and then woke up shortly after. I had fun in my bath with mommy and daddy and daddy even brushed my teeth! I crashed out pretty hard about a half hour later.

Maybe I'll surprise mommy tomorrow morning and STAND in my crib, she'll love that!

Whoa, how did those get there?

This is what it looks like when you've just realized that you have shoes on your feet! It was fascinating...and then I tried to eat them. Those dogs deserved it...

Today...

This was me this morning. This is my favorite pose, it was no accident that I was sitting like this! I didn't even realize that mommy put shoes on my feet, and when I turned around those puppies were staring right at me!

Who you callin' active?

Don't mind me while I crawl and climb. I like to stretch out my legs and practice standing whenever I get the chance. I'll be walking before you know it!

Healthy gums start early!

Last night was the first time I had my teeth brushed. At first I didn't know what to make of the pokey bristles, but I got used to it. Now I like to grab the toothbrush and help mommy brush my two little teeth. Mommy says we have to be careful because I tend to try to put the brush in too far or bite on it.

Catching up with me...

Well, it's been a long time since I've blogged. My first Christmas has come and gone and to sum it up, I was pretty spoiled! I got everything I wanted and I even got some things that I didn't know existed! As you can see in the picture above, mommy and daddy got some new safety gates for Christmas since I decided to start crawling on Christmas day, what a gift that was, right? I am now crawling with ease these days, and if there is a remote control that is carelessly left on the carpet, I am going to get it!
I was busy nursing mommy back to health over the past week and a half, and now it's her turn to nurse me back to health. I felt a little under the weather last night, and got a little feverish. Mommy gave me some Tylenol and I felt a little better and managed to sleep until 7am. I started to feel hot again later this morning, and was given a little more Tylenol. Daddy felt so sorry for me that he let me nap in his arms. I think he did it because mommy was out running errands, otherwise, she would have told him to put me in my crib. But, I liked to sleep in daddy's arms, and I slept for almost two hours. I slept a lot today and finally felt more like myself lter in the afternoon. I played for a little bit and laughed when mommy stuck her tongue out at me and shook her head. But now it's past my bedtime, so I better end this blog. Mommy wants to go and watch her hockey game too, and daddy is going to come home from work soon.

I'll try to keep updating this blog, but when mommy gets busy with work, she can't proofread and edit my entries, so I am stuck!

Take care,
Love,
Brandon

Happy About my New Tooth!

Even though it hurts more than you know, I can still smile about my new tooth! It finally came through yesterday. It must have come out overnight because I went to bed with nothing but swollen gums, and yesterday morning a little bud of a tooth was poking out! Yet another milestone!
Oh, the reason for my nakedness in this picture is because I insisted on helping mommy feed me and we both managed to get oatmeal and applesauce everywhere! It was time for a change anyway, I was still in my pajamas.

Mirror-Image

Everyone says I look just like my daddy, but personally, I think I look like my mommy :)

My first foods...

I started eating foods other than oatmeal on Friday, December 21st. They tried to feed me something they called avocados, and at first I was so excited when I saw my bowl that I opened up wide and took a big mouthful. It turned out to be the most disgusting thing I have ever tasted. I didn't like it at all, and I spit every last bit of it back out at mommy. She tried again, and it made me gag! Next, they disguised the avocado by mixing it with my oatmeal, and although I could tell there was something different about it, I ate it anyway. The next day, I ate the green tinged oatmeal and actually enjoyed it. Then I tried applesauce for the first time, and I didn't like that it was different at first and made a face that everyone thought was funny. It didn't take me long to realize that applesauce is really the bomb, and now I gobble it right up! At first, I would cry when they didn't feed me fast enough, and then I would cry when I ran out of food to eat!
These days I am eating a variety of different foods such as prunes, green beans and sweet potatoes. Mommy feeds me my oatmeal mixed with fruit in the morning, then I have some sweet potatoes for lunch, followed by green beans for dinner. I really love my new menu, and can't wait to try other things! When we went to the store, mommy almost got me some guava and mango, but she realized it was a 2nd stage food, so it looks like I will have to wait for my exotic fruits!

Baby, it's cold outside!

This is my new bundle-me sack that I can use in my stroller and carseat to keep me warm when we walk Kona. I love going for walks with mommy and Kona, but it does get cold in the evening these days, which is why I am glad we have this! Don't I look thrilled to be in it?
